This prestigious event that brings together masters, professional artists, emerging artists and art-lovers , structured as Portrait Competition, Exhibition , Conference with a series of Demonstration workshops and art critique, plus Gala closing event, the International Portrait Arts Festival is an excellent learning opportunity for Portrait Artists of all levels. As the only professional Competition in Fine Art Portraiture in Canada this is unique opportunity to establish the public recognition on the specialty subject of the Portrait.

GRAND PRIX Best of show $ 3000. 00 CAD
FIRST Place Award $ 1000. 00CAD
SECOND Place Award $ 750. 00 CAD
THIRD Place Award $ 500. 00 CAD
Best Portfolio Award $ 350. 00 CAD
Peoples Choice Award $ 500.00 CAD
All Festival Participants are eligible to submit slides of their portrait work. Two rounds of judging and selection are involved. Round one is conducted by Selection Committee of the Portrait Society; the Top Finalists will be invited to bring the Original Work for the Display and final judging to the Toronto Centre for the Arts Exhibition Gallery.
Submissions will be rated for composition, technique, application and overall vitality of the subject.
The competition works will be exhibited over the days of the Festival in the eminent Toronto Centre for the Arts Gallery .Open to the public
The Awards will be presented during the Awards Gala December 6, 2008. Canadian and International Artists are invited to submit their works to the Portrait Competition.
All entries must be received by November 1, 2008
